The grass around her was dead, in the circle the energy had gone through.  Lya wasn't moving, or at least any more than the short, broken breaths she was taking.

The alley she landed in was empty except for a few drunken passed out people.





The young man nearly jumped out of his skin and tried to run but his exhaustion took over and ended up tripping into a trash can and knocking it over "i-i'm fine, just fine" he quickly tried to get up and checked his pockets frantically before sighing when he found that what he is was looking for was still there.
